If the defence lawyer ignores supposed "secondary battlegrounds", such as labour law, civil liability, insurance coverage, administrative reliability issues (e.g. in weapons law, hunting law, aviation law or foreign trade law), or even just overlooks the potentially existence-threatening effect of media coverage, even an acquittal can quickly become a "Pyrrhic victory".
