Compliance is omnipresent. Compliance is no longer "nice to have", a functioning compliance management system is a prerequisite for successful economic activity.

An appropriate compliance structure not only reduces criminal law risks for the company and its employees, it also means "releasing" the bodies responsible for the legality of the company's actions (management or management board and supervisory board) from liability for any legal offences committed by the company.

A functioning compliance management system is also suitable for reducing or at best completely preventing the threat of a company fine in the event of an infringement of the law and for averting economically painful side effects (such as loss of reliability or other "blacklisting").

The establishment of appropriate compliance management, the core of which is criminal compliance, requires, in particular, expertise in commercial criminal law, a trained eye for risks and the knowledge of what law enforcement authorities look for in the course of an investigation and, in the event of a case, how any organisational culpability and thus the criminal liability of the management is determined.

However, expertise in commercial criminal law is also indispensable when setting up and conducting internal investigations and our many years of experience in criminal proceedings are more than helpful.
