Dr Hjalmar Mahn has been working as a lawyer since 2001, initially at the law firm Wessing II Verjans and later at VBB Rechtsanwälte. He has been a partner in the firm since 2008. He defends executives and represents companies in all areas of commercial and tax criminal law as well as in the area of prevention and compliance. He specialises in capital market criminal law, IT and internet criminal law as well as professional proceedings, in particular for auditors and tax advisors.
Dr Mahn also advises medium-sized and national companies on compliance-related matters. In particular, many clients from the real estate sector rely on his expertise. According to the sector magazine Juve, other lawyers with whom the law firm regularly cooperates in the context of large-scale proceedings frequently recommend Dr Mahn for his professional excellence and analytical acumen, but they also emphasise his calmness and aplomb. The specialist and business press has regarded Dr Hjalmar Mahn as a leading lawyer in white-collar criminal law for many years. Handelsblatt honoured him as Lawyer of the Year 2022 in the field of white-collar criminal law.
Dr Mahn regularly publishes on white-collar criminal law, in particular on IT criminal law.
