Renate Verjans was a founding partner of the law firm and has been Of Counsel since 2024. She is one of Germany's most renowned lawyers for commercial and tax criminal law. For over 30 years, she has defended executives against allegations of white-collar crime and advised companies on prevention and compliance. Every year, the business media recognise the lawyer with her entrepreneurial approach as a top lawyer in white-collar crime and tax criminal law.

As a company representative as well as an individual defence lawyer, Verjans is primarily involved in complex, large-scale proceedings that often take place under media scrutiny. Among other things, she represents the former DFB president against allegations of tax evasion in connection with the 2006 "Summer Fairytale" World Cup and defends several board members in the cum-ex complex. Based on her many years of experience, Ms Verjans carefully weighs up the prospects of success for each mandate and provides a realistic prognosis for the further proceedings.

Renate Verjans advises medium-sized and large national, international and municipal companies on a permanent basis within the scope of criminal law compliance advice. Ms Verjans has played a key role in shaping the development of this preventive advice in Germany.

Renate Verjans is a member of the advisory board of the Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsstrafrecht und Haftung im Unternehmen (ZWH) and the author of numerous publications on commercial and fiscal criminal law.
